Why Unhinged?

Hey! I'm Kelly, the blonde in the picture __^. You want to know a little about me and why I started Unhinged Boutique? Well here we go...

I grew up in a small town of Fults, IL. You probably don't know where this is, but its about an hour outside of St. Louis Missouri. Population 26! Growing up I didn't quite "fit in" but I survived. My mother raised a fashionista, and I was proud of it!

I met my now Floridian husband while he was working on a project in St. Louis. Once we got engaged I moved to south Florida. WooHOO! With a new life beginning it was easy to get wrapped up in all the excitement and wedding planning.

The weekend prior to my bridal shower I got the phone call that would change everything. My mother had suffered from breast cancer in the past, and this time the cancer was back and had metastasized to her brain. This was the moment my life stopped. With my wedding just 6 weeks away, everything took a backseat, and her health became my number 1 priority. Everyday her progress seemed to get worse.  I left my job, fiancé, and sunny Florida to moved back "home" to take care of my mom.

September 1, 2013 was my BIG day and like everyone says "the happiest day of your life." I cherish this day not only because I married my best friend, but it was the last day we were together as a family. My mother passed away while we were away on our honeymoon, September 10, 2013.

When we got back from our honeymoon I felt like the fight wasn't over.  It was too late to save my mom, but I wanted to give back to others suffering from cancer.  My mother taught me to never give up, and that you can make anything happen that you put your mind to. That's when Unhinged Boutique was born.  Unhinged Boutique is not like any other online boutique. We sell quality clothing at a budget friendly cost all while making a difference. Unhinged Boutique gives back 5% of the profits to Blue Water Babes which is a local charity helping women struggling financially due to treatment of breast and ovarian cancer.  I am so grateful for the time that I had with my mother, and without her influence I would not be the passionate and driven woman I am today.
